The Department of Physics envisions being a centre of excellence in higher education and research through rigorous training in both experimental as well as theoretical Physics. Through strong academics and creative research, we envisage to develop scholarship in students which will enlighten their minds. The enlightenment needed to take society to a higher plane of existence, where knowledge is the identity; respect for humanity and peaceful coexistence is the goal.

The way of imparting education will be such as to prepare the dynamic graduating students ready to compete and contribute in the today’s ever-changing, technology driven world through their skills, both applied and theoretical. The curriculum is designed to provide the basic and in-depth knowledge of the subject relevant to current educational and research scenario along with the job market demands. The thrust will be upon the important role of physics in electronic industry, energy studies, nanotechnology, material science etc. At the same time equal emphasis will be laid on theoretical physics in order to polish and groom the intellect of students to dig deeper into the mysteries of nature that forms the cornerstone of civilizational development. In order to keep our curriculum challenging, vibrant and relevant, the participation of faculty and students in workshops, meetings and conferences is encouraged.
