About us
The Advanced Centre for Information Technology (ACIT) was introduced in 2013 by Department of Computer Science with a primary objective of automating the services of the various departments / sections of the University in order to have a more efficient, transparent & technology driven system which would benefit all of its stake holders including students, staff & the University itself.
In 2018 the center has been converted into Directorate of Information Technology and Support Services (DIT&SS).
The initiative of establishing DIT & SS. is to act like a partner, providing widespread information support system, technology driven academic & administrative effectiveness and assistance in decision making with the aim to realize the strategic goals of the Islamic University of Science and Technology. Living true to the vision of the university, DIT & SS should permeate everything we seek to do at the Islamic University of Science and Technology as an essential tool that is always available and seamlessly integrated into our activities – to address the global pressing problems of our time. The key aim of this Directorate is to provide a computing environment for the university community; capable of meeting the challenges posed by the unprecedented requirements of the university. It is a central assumption that these needs can best be met by harnessing distributed computing power & storage capacity efficiently and transparently. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a very helpful tool for providing good governance to the University and its associated institutions that brings promising change in their working. The objective of introducing the ICT is to provide the University with a fully integrated management system that will allow it to deliver & support the highest quality educational services to its student population, utilize resources in most optimum manner and support the regulating authorities in carrying out the timely decisions. This initiative will promote and aid in the transformation & standardization of University-wide administrative processes as well as centralize & standardize data storage throughout the institution
