The Centre aims to promote academics, research and outreach in renewable energy, green and sustainable technologies in the country, with the geographical focus on Jammu & Kashmir. The Centre aims to offer solutions that help to address energy and environment issues to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). The CREST would strive to create an ecosystem that encourages all stakeholders to minimize adverse impact of development on environment through knowledge sharing and awareness.

To promote an interdisciplinary culture within the University for research aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. To provide and offer innovative solutions for integrating sustainable technology into developmental planning for a sustainable earth. To provide training/knowledge-based technological services to fulfil the needs of society and the industry for clean and sustainable environment. To inspire, motivate and catalyse the reduction of carbon foot print in Jammu & Kashmir.
