Home International Centre for Spiritual Studies

Vision

To emerge as a centre of excellence in the comparative study of religions, spirituality, and mysticism, attracting scholars from around the world to engage in advanced research on spiritual traditions across faiths and cultures. The Centre envisions fostering meaningful responses to the spiritual and moral crises of postmodern humanity through dialogue, peacebuilding, and integrative education. It seeks to develop a model of higher learning in which spiritual and ethical values are embedded within the university curriculum to promote holistic human development and global harmony.

Mission

The Centre is dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary research and academic inquiry into the diverse expressions of spirituality found in the world’s religious traditions. It aims to advance comparative scholarship on religion and mysticism, offering spiritual perspectives on contemporary ideological, cultural, and intellectual challenges while contributing to global conversations on peace, coexistence, and interreligious understanding. With a special focus on the spiritual heritage of Kashmir, ICSS seeks to connect local traditions with wider scholarly discussions on spirituality, ethics, and sustainable human flourishing.
