To cultivate interest of the spiritual and perennial human values and unique cultural mores of Kashmir through mother tongue in the younger generation of research scholars so that they feel connected to their roots and well acquainted to the cultural, aesthetic, and literary traditions propounded by great scholars of aesthetics and literary fingers who have shaped the contours of Kashmir’s cultural legacy.

To highlight the salient features of Kashmiri Language and literature by conducting research on the distinctive characteristics of the Kashmiri language and the predominant themes of Kashmiri poetry, Kashmiri fiction, drama and folk literature and to equip the research scholars with modern tools of critical scrutiny and literary theory.
