|
In line with the New Education Policy (NEP) the Department is now offering a four-year undergraduate program that will prepare students for a career in the actuarial/financial mathematics as well as postgraduate work in mathematics, statistics or related field. In this program students can major in mathematics with a minor in actuarial mathematics. In addition to a broad spectrum of mathematics courses, the curriculum for this course includes business and finance courses, and courses that hone IT and communication skills. The program also includes a research component in the fourth year that students can opt for or, alternatively, an honors option. Students can earn a certificate, a diploma, a three-year degree or a four-year honors or research degree by utilizing the various exit options available as per NEP guidelines. This program will also give our students the competitive edge in the financial industry that a traditional undergraduate program in mathematics would be unable to provide. |
