The Department of Civil Engineering has been a vibrant Department in the University since its inception. The Department starting from a scratch in year 2009 has attained name unto itself. The Department today has a wonderful and acclaimed faculty who impart teaching and learning to students at UG and Research level. Having joined this institution in year 2010 as a young recently passed student; it is a matter of pride for me that we have progressed as a Department in the School of Engineering and Technology. The Students from this Department have attained employment in leading companies as well as public organizations. In recent years, more than 200 of the students of this department have progressed to higher education. Some of these students have attained admissions in masters and PhD courses in leading institutions in India like IITs, NITs as well as in foreign countries like USA, UK and Italy. Many students have qualified prestigious GATE Exams successfully during recent years (More than 50 in last three years). The enrollment for this Department has always been above par and majority of the Students have a first priority of attaining degrees in Civil Engineering in recent years. The Students applying to UG Courses, enrolling and graduating is also quite satisfactory. The students have been working at UG level on diverse Projects of applications and many reports have found solutions to local problems of the society. The faculty is contributing in developing the solutions to environmental, sustainable development of civil engineering structures through individual and collaborative research on diverse aspects of material characterizations, fire resistant buildings, earthquake proof buildings, soil stabilization's, thermal insulation and acoustic aspects of buildings, pavement laying issues and many other different topics. Research scholars who have recently joined are working in these areas of research. The Department is actively involved in providing field training to students and encouraging internships and tours. The Department has today the best quality equipment's in our laboratories which can cater to research and consultancy in various areas. The Department is ever expanding its development of laboratories to meet the standards of global research. The Department hopes in future to build up on aspects of integrated research within University, collaborative research within and Outside India. The Department has submitted policy documents for skill enhancement and for environmental compliance's. The Department hopes to meet the vision and mission it has set for itself by considering the aspects of maintaining 'Academic integrity and accountability', 'Respect and tolerance for the views of every individual', 'Attention to issues of local, national relevance as well as of global concern', 'Holistic understanding, including knowledge of the human sciences', 'Appreciation of intellectual excellence and creativity', 'An unfettered spirit of learning exploration, rationality and enterprise', and 'Sensitivity to social responsibilities'.
