The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the Academic Year 2009.The Department offers instructions at undergraduate level leading to four year B.Tech. Degree in the faculty of Civil Engineering. The Department also offers PhD Research Courses since Year 2019. The instructions imparted to Students at undergraduate level aims to provide the students with high quality technical education with emphasis on the practice of civil engineering. The Department is actively focused on current & future requirements of the field & industry which includes providing instructions with the help of most modern and updated equipment's and inculcation of new version of computer software's for modeling, analysis and design. Field visits of projects and construction sites around the valley & outside are being arranged for training of students to acquaint them with practical knowledge in various areas of Civil Engineering. The Department focuses on active involvement of students in major Project areas for undergraduate training and research. Besides imparting high quality teaching and laboratory testing works, the Department is actively engaged in basic, applied research & consultancy assignments from field and government departments. The Department offers latest Civil Engineering subjects in its syllabus that incorporates wide range of courses leading to employ-ability, value addition, Gender and moral perspectives besides highlighting on core aspects of civil engineering. These courses are in tune with latest AICTE guidelines of course curriculum, and follows the Choice based credit scheme for imparting specialized knowledge to students in various areas of civil engineering. These courses are also in tune with the foremost engineering & technological institutions offering B.Tech. Civil Engineering course within the country. The Department has active and vibrant advisory system for the guidance of students which helps students to plan for academic courses, mental health and extra-curricular activities. This system monitors the students progress as well. The Department has many research Projects funded by various organizations under which the Department is working on research aspects of Civil Engineering. Many research scholars, research fellows are contributing in building up the research potential of the Department.
