About us
The Department of English Language and Literature was established in 2008 with an aim to strengthen and develop a deepened understanding of language and literature, the value of critical reading and effective writing, and the richness of literature, past and present. We endeavor to develop a literary temper among students by providing a platform from which they can explore the relationship between historical texts and their diverse influence on modern society. We seek to foster knowledge and a love of literature and language in our students and believe the study of traditional and new genres will inspire creative and original thought while also enabling students to communicate concisely, fluently and with acumen.
The curriculum focuses on a variety of literary, analytical, pedagogical, and theoretical areas encouraging critical thinking. Students are trained, with personal and customized guidance by our experienced and well qualified faculty. In addition, the department also invites eminent scholars from the field of Literature to enlighten the students with their knowledge and expertise.
