Mission
                            
                                Our mission is to cultivate a cutting-edge research environment using interdisciplinary approaches, fostering collaborations with other institutions, implement innovative solutions, promote awareness, enhance outreach, training and capacity building services among the individuals, institutions, and communities to proactively reduce the risk of disasters, and ensuring the well-being and prosperity of all.
The following disciplines or their combinations are expected for the doctoral research at the CDRR;
	Earthquake
	Avalanche and Glacial hazards 
	Landslides and land subsidence     
     Climate Change and Associated disasters
	Water Resources including floods and droughts
	Water Quality and health 
	Volcanoes
	Forest and wild fire 
	Various Man-made disasters 
All these themes can be taken for doctoral research with the help of the faculty available in the IUST as well as with the faculties elsewhere using active collaborations.
