In the current competitive era, we are facing many challenges in the ‘classy’ education sector. The inadequate access to quality and relevant education is the most pressing challenge to be tackled. To transform these challenges into opportunities, we need to adopt action-centric, value-based, and experiential learning pedagogy, apart from churning out the current curricula taught to the students. Moreover, the present capitalist approach, adopted by developing economies across the world, has compelled us to focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in the educational pedagogy and, more importantly, the subject matter so that our youth think in terms of being employers rather than employees. With this backdrop, The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) has been established with a vision to change the mindset of the students towards innovation and entrepreneurship by providing them an enabling ecosystem in the university system. The values of CIED lie in ‘DISHI’ representing Diversity, Integrity, Sustainability, Humanity, and Inclusion as the fundamental core principles to develop this Institution of eminence. The CIED has six verticals that will help the students from the ideation stage to the final commercialization stage of the product/service line in the market as successful startups. This will inculcate in them the thrill and skill of becoming ‘job providers’ rather than remain as ‘job seekers’ in the market. In addition, we will strive to instill the seeds of a holistic mindset of sustainable and socially inclusive growth among the students so that they become real human beings.
