Recognising its role as an institution for the benefit of society as a whole, IUST has been involved with the local community in various capacities since its inception. In addition to academics and research, IUST intends to be at the forefront of creating value-based programs that have a positive social impact. The idea is to create a ripple in the community and empower people to take charge of their lives in a more fruitful manner. The program intends to be elicitive in nature, recognising that such programs can be sustainable only when the community is involved in its design as well as implementation. It was in this context that the Office of Dean Outreach was created in 2022, under the aegis of which the Office of Community Connect functions to give a centralised shape to make the activities more efficient and better coordinated.
