About us
Interdisciplinary research is a unique approach to addressing the complex scientific and technological challenges of the future. Established in 2023 by the University, the Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIIS) serves as an interdisciplinary research hub that brings together accomplished researchers from different STEM disciplines to focus on specific challenges with the aim of addressing societal and scientific problems at local, national and international levels.
Our institute strives to cultivate collaboration and innovation at the convergence of diverse scientific disciplines, harnessing collective strengths to examine scientific challenges comprehensively and devise multi-faceted solutions. FRIIS is designed as a collaborative space where researchers amalgamate their varied expertise, interests, and approaches. This collaborative environment facilitates the posing of new research questions, the addressing of existing scientific challenges, and the advancement of technologies aimed at enhancing human living conditions.
Whether you are a senior scientist, a young researcher, a prospective student or a potential collaborator, we invite you to join us in our pursuit of interdisciplinary excellence. Together, our objective is to construct a more sustainable future through the dynamic synergy of collaborative interdisciplinary research. FRIIS actively welcomes highly skilled and well-trained overseas scientists of India in STEM fields as fellows under prestigious programs such as Ramanujan, Ramalingamswami, Wellcome Trust, etc., aligning with the university's commitment to the spirit of “Brain Gain' philosophy”.
