Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing started during June 2016, by appointing two Assistant Professors and four tutors in nursing. 40 students were selected by IUST Awantipora for persuing Basic B.Sc. Nursing during October 2016. The college was formally commissioned during December 2016 by then Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti and former HVC, Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqui. The college is affiliated to INDIAN Nursing Council and State Nursing Council since 2016. The physical infrastructure of the college comprises four class rooms, computer lab, college library, skill labs with simulators in nursing foundation, medical surgical nursing, community health nursing, pediatric nursing, maternity nursing and mental health nursing, three offices of faculty, office staff and principals office. College has a hostel facility for forty female students. New hostel building , with the capacity of 180 ( 90 Boys and 90 Girls ) with multipurpose hall, common rooms, kitchens, dining halls etc is constructed but not started for use of students. The proposal for construction of the college building as per INC Norms is submitted to Engineering cell. The Nursing faculty of the college is teaching students in class rooms, labs as well as clinical areas, as prescribed by Indian Nursing Council. The college has MOU for clinical experience with SKIMS Super Speciality Institution, Soura, Kashmir, SKIMS Medical College Bemina and IMHANS/Psychiatric Hospital Rainawari. The standard of Nursing Education of the college is as prescribed in the norms of Indian Nursing Council. First bacth of 40 B.Sc. nursing completed their degree during 2021 March, all of them placed in the govt sector, Second batch of B.Sc. (N) completed their degree during January 2022 and all of them are declared pass with good grades. The college has implemented a new B.Sc. (N) syllabus based on semester system with modular, skill based nursing education. Board of Studies held on 27th January 2022, recommended starting of M.Sc. Nursing in five specialities viz community health nursing , medical surgical nursing, maternity Nursing, Child Health Nursing and Mental Health Nursing. --
