About us
At the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), the Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) was established in 2024 with the objectives to; undertake cutting-edge research on potential disasters, train the community through knowledge sharing, workshops, capacity building programs, etc. about the risks involved with the potential disasters, foster a culture of resilience, and to promote sustainable development for the present and future generations. In addition, our aim is to build working partnerships with the other national and international institutes. Disaster Risk Reduction focuses on the various components of risk, viz., hazard, exposure and vulnerability of people and assets. We are currently running an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program, offering unparalleled opportunities for aspiring scholars to delve into cutting-edge disaster related research involving multi-hazard approach.
