The Department of Chemistry endeavors to be a nationally recognized model for educating and graduating students to compete in and contribute to the ever-changing technology-centered world of the 21st century. The curriculum is designed to provide in-depth knowledge in various aspects of chemistry relevant to current educational and research prospects. The course has been designed such that it will be highly beneficial for the science graduates who are dreaming to work in the educational institutes, pharmaceutical industries, polymer fabrication, and paint industries or to pursue a carrier in research from reputed institutions in India and abroad. It has been a common viewpoint of the research and development institutes and quality control laboratories that the fresh university graduates have little practical knowledge or experience about the instrumentation and their applications though they have elementary theoretical background covered in the curriculum. This necessitates their reorientation and training for taking up laboratory functions. So, keeping the above things in mind, the curriculum is designed in such a way that will ideally satisfy these requirements.
