Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) offers programmes in all major engineering disciplines, nursing, natural sciences, languages, humanities and social sciences besides philosophical and spiritual studies. At present, we have 6 Schools, 18 Departments, 11 Centres besides two constituent nursing colleges and one polytechnic college catering to around 3400 UG, PG and research students. We strive to build a student friendly work culture so as to ensure that our students can totally commit to their studies and research rather than getting entangled in administrative formalities. Besides, we promote a positive and cooperative student-teacher relationship with the underlying understanding that it does a world of good to instil confidence in the students so as to excel both academically and socially.

At IUST, it is our endearing endeavour to provide strong fundamentals coupled with proper training and the right set of skills so as to prepare our students to become future scientists, teachers, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs and world leaders. In this direction, the university regularly introduces courses that have high employability potential, promotes strong mentor-mentee relationship, strengthens the outreach and placement activities, encourages participation in national and international conferences and frequently organizes workshops, schools and conferences.

In a short period, the university has made remarkable progress in building the infra-structure, procuring facilities for high end research, maintaining high standards of quality, recruiting highly qualified and competent faculty. It is heartening to know that our alumni have attained leadership positions in several countries and are constantly exchanging ideas with the university administration vis-a-vis the changing global education scenario and our adaptation to it. The University has been designated as a mentor institution promoting skill development in food technology, computer and electronic engineering and e-infrastructure for J&K degree colleges.
