With great pleasure & commitment, I extend a warm welcome to all the students and aspirants of Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST). Established in the year 2005, the university has had a great growth trajectory till now and we are committed to take it to newer heights with every passing day. The office of Dean of Students, IUST, is at the forefront of this development with a mission to provide services for all-round development of students in all spheres of life.
World is today faced with myriad of challenges with new ones (climate change, unsustainable development, energy issues, conflicts, irresponsible consumption and production etc.) adding to already existing ones(hunger, poverty, gender inequality, unavailability of clean drinking water etc.). Taking cognizance of this, UN has come up with 17 goals for Sustainable Development to be achieved by the year 2030. India is an active participant in the process of achieving these goals and we at IUST are conscious of our role in the same. Dean of Students office, IUST, has aligned its activities towards these goals and strives to contribute its bit to achieve the same. With the help of a robust Student Council Committee, IUST - Campus is a polythene / plastic free campus, participant of Eat Right Initiative, has completely banned sale and consumption of junk food within the campus, provides clean drinking water to all and has developed an excellent sanitation system. Organization of sports activities and cultural events is a regular feature at the office of Dean of Students. IUST uses renewable solar energy, and ensures all developmental activities are sustainable. Students are continuously provided with counseling, encouraged to work innovatively, assisted in benefiting from different scholarship schemes, and facilitated to take up entrepreneurship activities. To make the students responsible citizens students are sensitized regarding gender equality, inclusive growth, climate change, peace and justice. In all these efforts Dean of Students office seeks active partnerships and works in tandem with all the agencies working towards these SDGs.
We, at the office of Dean of Students, welcome you all to be a part of our endeavor to leave behind a safer, cleaner, healthier and peaceful world for our future generations. Together we can achieve this.
